Great production at Bradford High school

If you have a chance this weekend to go see "School House Rock" at Bradford you should definitely take your kids. I went on a field trip with Rylee's class and it was so much fun. The high school kids did amazing. We will definitely try to go to another production.

Spring is coming?????

Today I looked out the front window and saw a blue bird today. I have never seen one here in Wisconsin. He looked like this.

He was eating off of my tree in the front. I have been so down about the weather (ask Darren- he can't take my complaining anymore) so maybe the Lord sent me a little sign to hang in there. That is what I am going with.

Dress up

My kids LOVE to dress up. Rylee and Mason still do. The kids spend hours pretending to be people and a lot of time animals. I snapped this picture the other day. I don't know what Mason was suppose to be but he was having a fun time. This is the day he taught Ayden to say "I'm dead" and then she lays on the floor with her eyes closed. So disturbing, but so hard not too laugh at her little two year old voice saying that when she has no idea what it is.

notice his zipper is down?!!

Trisha's review of Little Debbie 100 calorie Brownies

Ok I am a sucker for the 100 calorie packs of just about anything. I was excited to see that Little Debbie jumped on the band wagon. I actually laughed out loud when I opened the package and saw the small brownie. I do realize that it is a brownie and they do have a lot of calories but come on. Eating this small brownie just pissed me off. Because not only was I not satisfied but mad that I wasted 100 calories on the 2 bites of it. Plus, it didn't really taste that great. I will say that it was chewy and it didn't taste like nutrisweet. But will I be buying these again NO!!

Cesar Milan

We have the National Geographic channel as a free trial on satellite right now. Rylee, Mason and I are addicted to the Dog Whisperer. Mason tries to use his techniques on the dogs which is quite hiliarous. In fact he said "when is someone gonna come over" I had no idea what he was talking about until I realized that we had just watched an episode where Cesar was trying to cure a dog of going crazy at the doorbell. Mason wanted to use what he had just learned on Yoda. It is amazing how he helps. I just wonder if the dogs continue the old behavior after Cesar leaves.

Spending time together

Today Darren said something that I thought would make a perfect blog topic. I mentioned that we didn't really spend any time together this weekend. He then said, "Well we did last night (Sat)". Let me tell you what we did. After the kids were in bed, I was watching TV and he was messing around. At about 10 oclock, he came into the bedroom and I said "Lay down with me and watch this" He proceeded to, which is really nice because he doesn't like to sit down, and he fell asleep within two minutes (he has an amazing ability to do this). Obviously he was tired and I honestly wasn't upset that he fell asleep. What I think is amazing is that his brain is wired to think that this was spending time together!

Thanks Darren for reminding me that men and woman think oh so differently!!!!

Mother daughter tea

.
Rylee and I had a great time this afternoon at the Mother-Daughter tea at church today. The ladies that put it together did a fabulous job. It was really great to do something with just Rylee. The room was decorated in a cute green and pink flower theme. We had some ice breaker questions like which would you rather have a lizard or a snake. It was interesting to see what Rylee picked...usually different that me???? We had little finger sandwiches and punch and cupcakes.

Wii-game review

Playground games is the best Wii game that we have rented. It has games that all of us enjoy. It had games that Rylee and Mason enjoyed and were able to do. Darren and I enjoyed playing dodgeball against each other. He won, unfortunately. Other highlights were paper airplane flying, and tetherball.

I am 36

So today I turned 36. I started off the day with sleeping in which is an awesome bonus! I did get up and get downstairs and the kids didn't have breakfast ready so they told me to go back to bed. I didn't say no to that. So I went back to bed and watched a movie "Momma Mia" and it took them quite a while to make the breakfast so I finished the whole movie. I watched the kids have a blast outside in the 12+ inches of snow we've gotten in the last 2 days from the back window. Then I got ready to go to Darren's bosses "Christmas" party. Friends were nice enough to watch our kids (thanks Dave and Sherri). Darren and I came home (at 8:30) and put the kids to bed and watched "in the Valley of elah"(really good by the way). This is how a 36 year old parties it up on their birthday and is perfectly happy about it!!

Things that bring me joy- a gift from Darren

Darren got me a gift for Christmas that he and I love. THE PEDIEGG!! It is from Walgreens and its an egg shaped foot dryskin filer. Its amazing the amount of dead skin it collects in the little container. Darren is liking it to and is man enough to admit it (I have the pink pediegg and he doesn't even care). I not only like that it's taking off all that grossness but then to see it collected all is one spot (in the lid) is exciting. I have issues...

Anyway, I would highly recommend you get a Pediegg if you have a lot of dry skin on your heels and feet. I would say you could borrow mine but I don't think that would be a good idea??

Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
Oh my goodness did I enjoy this book. During my sickness (strep throat), I didn't feel that well but I felt good enough to read and I read this book all day. Today I had to go see the movie. The movie isn't as romantic as the book. I never knew that I could like vampires so much. I would definitely recommend this for a light (even though it's 500 pages) read. I am ready to read the 2nd.

My 2009 goals

Darren has to do this at work so I decided that I need to have some goals here at my work.

I would like to have everyone in my house completely potty trained and bathroom manners trained (Mason) before the year is over.

I would like to have a date with just me and each one of my kids once a month.

I would like to go out and date my husband more than once a month and actually go on dates not...what do you want to do...I don't know what do you want to do. Know what I mean??

I would like to figure out what classes I need to take to get my teaching license renewed.

I would like to meet my weight loss goal.

Strep Throat

Darren gave me strep throat. He got it now I have it. I don't remember having it before. I feel better today than the last couple days. He is feeling better too. I feel bad because everyone has kinda fended for themselves the last couple days. Darren is gonna take the kids to Action Territory to play games tonight because they have been couped up in here. I hope the kids don't get it! I think that they are gonna reserve a spot for our family at the walkin clinic.
