Philadelphia and Ligionier PA

We went to Philadelphia for one day. Darren wanted to see the US Mint. You can't bring cameras so I have no pictures. It was actually pretty interesting. We wanted to see the Liberty Bell but it was too stressful driving around down there that we just decided we will come back when the kids are older and can appreciate it.

We then went to Ligonier to see my Uncle Greg and Aunt Ellie and my cousins Jackie and Joey. It was SOOO nice to stay at there awesome camp and to spend time with them. We were lucky enough to go to Joey's baseball game which was alot of fun. They just got a new puppy named Rudy.

Overall is was a great time. It was a bummer that we had to come home to water in my basement?!

Sesame Place

We had a fun time at Sesame Place. My kids were at the PERFECT age. I was concerned that Rylee was too old but she had a blast. She is a roller coaster (any ride) junkie so it was fun for her. Mason still was fasinated by the character and Ayden was in "toddler nirvana". If you have little kids I would recommend you going just know that it's not like Disney meaning its a pretty small park but it was magical. There was tons of opportunity to see and photograph the characters. We did pay more to have a character lunch but it was worth it!

Hershey pictures

We stayed one night in Hershey PA. We did the little tour (a couple times) to get the free chocolate. We had Hershey chocolate milk. Yummy. The kids thought it was a lot of fun. It even smelled like chocolate in there. In fact makes me want some chocolate RIGHT NOW!!

pirates game

Last Sunday we went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game. We had beautiful weather! The game was an Old Time game, which we didnt really realize. It was like it was in 1909. No take me out to the ballgame, no crazy waves or motivating music or scoreboad craziness. It was kinda nice and but it made it a little less interesting to the kids. They did enjoy it overall. We got a Primanti brothers sandwich (has fries and slaw on it) and that was SOOO good. We had never been to that statium before and it was awesome with a great view. They close down the bridge so that pedistrians can walk across. The bad part was trying to get out of there. We were stuck in a parking garage for 1+ hrs!!

Pictures from trip

This is from our first stop on the trip, Beaver County PA. We lived here for 4 years. We also were a Big Brother/Sister to Derek. He was about Rylee's age when we met him. We went to his high school graduation party. It's weird to see him as a young man. He is a great kid and has done well in school. This is a picture of Darren and the kids with him and Derek and his mom, Linda.

We also went to Bruster's, Darren's favorite ice cream two times in one day!!

once you do it once

We went to the Zoo when my sister was here a couple weekends ago. The first time we went last year I said, "Why don't you try to stand like those flamingos?" Now EVERY time we go the kids want there picture taken looking like a flamingo. I can have a whole looking like a flamingo scrapbook.

smart moms know

I found this in Woman's Day magazine

Your first instinct is usually the right one.
Time-outs aren't just for kids.
Sometimes all a kid really needs is someone to listen.
You can't do it all ---and that's OK.
A nap works wonders on cranky toddlers and cranky husbands.
On a hectic day, fast food equals a stress-free dinner --no guilt allowed!

50's

It in the 50 and it's June. Is it too much to ask to not have to wear a parka in June. I have lived in Wisconsin for almost 8 years and still not use to it. I told Darren last night that once it turns hot it will be BLAZING until september. Oh well.
