how to be a good wife

This is from the new MOPs magazine in an article entitled..Our Grandmother's World"

How to be a Good WIfe

The following is an adapted excerpt form HOUSEKEEPING MONTHLY May 13, 1955 called, "The Good Wife's Guide" with tips on getting ready for her husband's arrival from work:

Clear away the clutter: Make one last trip though the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up children's books and toys, papers, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it wil give you a lift too.

Prepare the Children: If they are small, wash their hands and faces and comb their hair. They are his little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.

Minimize All Noise: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise from the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

Some "Do Nots:" Don't greet him with problems and complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as a minor problem compared to what he might have gone through that day.

trisha s book review

Please Stop Laughing at Me: One Woman's Inspirational Story Please Stop Laughing at Me: One Woman's Inspirational Story by Jodee Blanco

My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I just finished this book. To me it was about a whiny child that continued to be rescued out of every hard situation. It's hard for me to believe that at 4 !!! schools you were physically abused because you stood up for the underdog. Maybe I am too far removed from high school but I remember bullying but I certaintly don't remember people standing by while students were being abused. I know bullying is still part of the school system but I want to hope that it is NO where near the extent of abuse that is told in this book. I didnt think this book was inspirational at all I though it was UNBELIEVEABLE.

Ayden's gymnastics

I signed Ayden up for gymnastics with her buddy Addi in January. They have so much fun together. I was feeling a little guilt because I know the other kids at Ayden's age had already tried several "activities". She really enjoyed going. Here are a few snapshots.

It's been too long- Kids musical

Wow its June and I havent posted anything since April!! The kids have finished Awana, started baseball/softball and have two more weeks of school. The kids had their musical for church too. Here are a few pictures. Rylee had a small solo and did great. This was Mason's first time in the choir and he was placed between two girls on the stage. He was really cute. He is growing his hair out and was flipping his hair out of his eyes like a teenager. Ayden wanted to be in a picture so here she is.
