Talk about making kids aware

The kids were picking up the toy room and Mason was getting frustrated because Ayden was taking stuff out as he was putting it away so he said "Ayden won't help and she is acting like she has autism." I guess they are talking about kids with autism at school. I don't think the intent was to give the kids words to describe their siblings. I am glad that he knows that some kids are different!

Mother Son School event

We had a blast at the Mother Son Nash Event. We went to Medieval Times. We took a school bus to Schaumberg. It was a lot of fun. It was great to do an event that Mason loved. We sat down after the bus trip and waiting in line and he says "I feel like I am gonna throw up!" In my mind I imagined a VERY long evening filled with throwing up and another bus ride and throwing up on the bus. Well it turned out fine. He stayed in the bathroom awhile then came back out. He didn't eat or talk for a while (which both made me nervous because that is NOT Mason). He ended up becoming more himself and we had a fun night filled with rooting the evil Green Knight!

Yummy Breakfast

I brought this to MOPs and it was so easy and yummy.

It's from allrecipe.com

French Toast Souffle

Ingredients:
10 cups white bread cubes
1 (8 ounce) package lowfat cream cheese,
softened
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk 2/3 cup half-and-half cream
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

Directions:
1. Place bread cubes in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer at medium speed until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in milk, half and half, maple syrup, and vanilla until mixture is smooth. Pour cream cheese mixture over the bread; cover, and refrigerate overnight.
3. The next morning, remove souffle from refrigerator, and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
4. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, and serve warm.

Serve with maple syrup!

mason the cowboy

So Mason and I were lucky enough to have some time without the girls so we went out to breakfast at IHOP. I asked him what he was gonna be when he grew up he very matter a factly said, "a cowboy". I asked him what was his plan. He said he was gonna take the train and go where the train cowboys. I said out west you mean. He continued and said that he was "gonna learn things like using ropes and how to shoot a gun". I love his innocent yet matter a fact view of life. I guess we will save a lot on college tuition!

Baseball Bedroom

My parents came two weekends ago and put this mural up in Mason's room. We are just now getting it put all together!! He loves it! Thanks Mimi and Papa!

We painted last weekend. The metal chair rail was there. We just painted green and a darker tan. The curtains are the same that we had and we got him a new comforter from Target.

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
I think this book was written for me. It was such a great biblical based reminder of how we should live in this world. You need to read this book if you have a busy life.

Maggie The Beagle

We had to make a hard decision today. We decided to euthanize Maggie.

We got her right after we were married and she has made every move with us and was our first child. She hasn't had a great quality of life for a while. She had trouble walking and standing and the other day she fell going UP the stairs to the patio. She was a good companion.

Bye Bye ER

So I have been watching ER for 15 years and it's over. I realize that no hospital has had as many Dr's die or has been blown up so many times. It was good to see some of the old people brought back but what happened to Clooney??? He wasn't on there and some others were missing. Oh well, I now have Gray's Anatomy to watch to get my Doctor fix.
