This thing called online classes

When I was in college we were just barely using the internet. Now, I am signing up for a class in March that is completely online. How does it even work? Do you just do the reading and write papers? It's a native American history class so I expect to be so THRILLING?! We will see in March?!

Ayden's cute quote

I love 3 years olds. They can talk and you can understand them yet they don't have everything completely figured out. Ayden said the other day, after sitting on the couch for a while and then standing up..."my legs are sprinklely" Isn't that a great way to describe when your feet are asleep.

kids book reviews

Rylee is reading everything these days. Although I have enjoyed reading some of the ones she is reading I can't read them all. Here is a website that has reviews.

Ice Skating with the Andresens

We went ice skating at the Rec Plex over Christmas break. This was the first time we had taken Ayden. She really enjoyed shuffling along with the bucket. It had been a while for Rylee and Mason too. It was a fun afternoon.

Younglings

Rylee's assignment from school

Keep Your Eyes Moving with Reading

I never thought I was good at reading until I read a thick picture book in First grade. I was in Accelerated Reader Second grade level in first grade. I knew I would stick with reading forever.

When I took the AR test, I saw words and characters come to life. I heard myself reading and people were talking. Once I found out I was in second grade level I was so happy. I was one of the few first graders to be in AR Reading. Reading is my passion and I will stick with it forever.

When I grow up I want to be a reading teacher for a day care so that I can be with younglings and read. I would aldo try to teach the kids how to read at a young age. I would love th e 4 year olds to be able to read a picture book, year olds a Kindergarten book. I thought I would never be as good at reading as I am now.

I had to proof read this tonight. It totally cracked me up. I think she is a little proud that she was in second grade reading!! She mentioned it 3 times. It also is so funny that she used the words YOUNGLINGS. That is what they called kids in the Star Wars movies (which we watched over Christmas break).

Turning 37

So Sunday I turned 37. That morning I woke up with the thought that half of my life could be over. Hmmmm~ I know that is a depressing thought.

Anyway, I had a great day that included a yummy breakfast and gifts before I even woke up. We went to church and Mason suggested Olive Garden for lunch. We went there and then to a Racine Childrens theater play.

We had small group for church at night and my friends there surprised me with cake and balloons and singing Happy birthday. It's been a while since I had a little party. It was SOO nice.

I think 37 is gonna be a great year. I definitely don't want to go backwards...the thought of 17 again is scary!

any aldi fans out there?

I went to Aldi's today and I got this bruschetta in the refrigerated section that was .99. I put a big spoonful of the bruschetta over chicken breast that I had sprinkled with garlic salt and oregano and baked in 350 oven. When the chicken was done, I put a slice of mozzarella cheese on there and stuck it in the oven for a few more minutes. Oh my goodness. It was SOOO good. It was an awesomely easy dinner.
