Christmas quote
We had a great Christmas and we are enjoying the time off work and school to play with all our new presents. I have one quote from Mason that I want to put on here so I won't forget. Darren picked Mason out some mens old spice body spray to put in his stocking. So when Mason opened it he said "I am glad that Santa is realizing I am becoming a man!" Here is a picture..its kinda blurry though...

Merry christmas from the kocherspergers and the joness
So my awesome cousin Holly came up to take pictures for us at the end of October for our Christmas cards. She did a great job and came up with some great shots. So at the end of November (before Thanksgiving actually) I found a layout I loved at samsclub.com. They had a problem with my order and it couldnt be found. After going to Sams twice they told me to reorder them on the computer.
So finally they called to say that they were in at Sams so Darren goes and picks them up not looking at the cards. He comes in and throws them at me while I was sitting on the couch. I open the front cover to see this
Front cover
Then open the card and here is the middle

See Anything wrong with this picture. I started laughing so hard I couldnt breathe. I hope these people dont have 3 little kids in the spot where this picture was suppose to be on their card.
They finally got them corrected free plus a $10 gift card.

pictures with holly
Not only did my cousin Holly come take pictures of our family --which was so great---she brought her two year old twins with her. They were so much fun. I am going to have to kidnap them soon since they live so close!!
Here are a few shots she got! She convinced me that my family was not the worst!! I think that is what they all say! Look for the one on our christmas card!

little giants
The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I enjoyed the quiet heroine of this book. She is constantly being looked passed but it's good to hear from her since this is in her voice. She turns a hard live into one that eventually is full of love and joy.

Interesting intrepetation of what bible times would be like. It is NOT biblical based but interesting to think if these characters lives were anything like this author portrayed them to be.

thanks brother in law for sending this to me
TMI ALERT!!!
I think it's fair to say that Kochersperger men are good at several things and one of them is passing gas. My brother in law sent this link to me only because he knows the suffering I have had to endure. Now if Ryan could only find me something to keep it on Darren's side of the car when we are on road trip and we would have the perfect marriage. Here is the website...Fart blanket

how to be a good wife
This is from the new MOPs magazine in an article entitled..Our Grandmother's World"
How to be a Good WIfe
The following is an adapted excerpt form HOUSEKEEPING MONTHLY May 13, 1955 called, "The Good Wife's Guide" with tips on getting ready for her husband's arrival from work:
Clear away the clutter: Make one last trip though the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up children's books and toys, papers, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it wil give you a lift too.
Prepare the Children: If they are small, wash their hands and faces and comb their hair. They are his little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
Minimize All Noise: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise from the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.
Some "Do Nots:" Don't greet him with problems and complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as a minor problem compared to what he might have gone through that day.

Please Stop Laughing at Me: One Woman's Inspirational Story by Jodee Blanco
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I just finished this book. To me it was about a whiny child that continued to be rescued out of every hard situation. It's hard for me to believe that at 4 !!! schools you were physically abused because you stood up for the underdog. Maybe I am too far removed from high school but I remember bullying but I certaintly don't remember people standing by while students were being abused. I know bullying is still part of the school system but I want to hope that it is NO where near the extent of abuse that is told in this book. I didnt think this book was inspirational at all I though it was UNBELIEVEABLE.

It's been too long- Kids musical
Wow its June and I havent posted anything since April!! The kids have finished Awana, started baseball/softball and have two more weeks of school. The kids had their musical for church too. Here are a few pictures. Rylee had a small solo and did great. This was Mason's first time in the choir and he was placed between two girls on the stage. He was really cute. He is growing his hair out and was flipping his hair out of his eyes like a teenager. Ayden wanted to be in a picture so here she is.

Madison trip
I was lucky enough to go to Madison, wi with 140 fourth graders from school. It was a lot of fun. We started off at the Madison Zoo and then went to the capital. We had a tour of the capital building. It was a very gorgeous building. I learned all about Wisconsin history (don't know anything since I didnt go to school here). Here are a few pictures.

This even hurt me...
From Parents magazine
"The toliet-seat cover slammed down on my son's penis." Heather Miller's 2 year old son Lucah had just learned to use the potty and liked to stand. One morning he went to the bathroom on his own and seconds later Miller heard the toilet slamming and a scream-the lid had fallen and crushed his penis against the seat. Blood was squirting out his urethra so Miller took him to the ER, where he had to stay until he could urinate. "His penis was extremely swollen ans so bruised it turned black. We had to push fluids for the next 24 hours because otherwise the blood would clot and block his urethra, making it painful to pee, " says the mom from Loveland, CO. " he still stands but now I go with him."

mother daughter tea
This weekend was the second annual Mother Daughter tea at church. I was on the team that help put this together. Here are a few of the things that we did. We had a craft time where we made a tie blanket for the Crisis Pregnancy Center here in Kenosha. We also had refreshments including peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into flower shapes (thanks to a cookbook Rylee got from Grandma Kochie) and chocolate fondue!!! What a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon just Rylee and I!
