written by rylee for awana

AFTER INTERVIEWING BOTH OF US SHE WROTE THIS FOR AN AWANA SECTION...

TRISHA and DARREN
KOCHERSPERGER
They (Trisha and Darren) once had been thinking about whom they would marry (well maybe every so often) but then they met in collage and knew they were perfect for each other (maybe not right away). They went to Olivet Nazarene University for college. After two years of getting to know each other they decided to get married. They were engaged for a long six months. They now keep God first in their life and marriage by going to church, doing what’s right, praying and last but not least reading the Bible. A couple ways they show their love for each other are saying I love you, rubbing each other’s backs and bring each other Diet Cokes. They think the best part of being married is that you always have a partner and knowing that some one is looking out for you. They have 3 beautiful children (one is me). Some advice they would give a new bride and groom is to remember that it is a life long commitment, make sure you know God well, and to ALWAYS put their need ahead of yours.
By their loving daughter,
Rylee Kochersperger

15 years

So Darren and I went on a Carribean Cruise for our 15 year wedding anniversary. The kids were at home with some awesome friends for a couple days and grandpa and grandma for a couple of days.

We met John and Nancy, our friends that use to live in Kenosha and now live in Colorado. They share the same anniversary, same date, same year!!

It was paradise and great to get away. We enjoyed the time with just the two of us. What a luxury!!!

Here are a few pix.

Of course, I have to start with the AMAZING food...this is a pix of Lamb chops. Then, they had a formal night and here is our picture in the main staircase of the ship. We also had a reception for the people celebrating anniversaries or honeymoons. That is where we were exchanging bites of cake. Finally here is Darren loving life in the hot tub...their were 4 of them on the ship. The one of us in front of the ship is in Jamaica.

spring break

It's been spring break this week so it's been a nice break from the regular routine. We got to visit Indy to see Tracy and her kids and Shannon and her kids came up too. It was nice since we had not seen each other since Christmas.

wow I need to update

Well, I think we have moved past all the snow...there are some patches left here and there.
HEre are some pix from father daughter dance that was in February. I did Rylee's hair and it turned out cute. This was the last one for her at Nash Elementary. I think that they both had a great time.

Mason and Ayden stayed home with me and we had a wild night...they fell asleep on the couch!!

Blizzard of 2011

I have lived in the midwest my whole life and lived in Wisconsin for almost 10 years but I have NEVER seen anything like this before. When I walked outside this morning, I just laughed because it was so CRAZY. Luckily, Darren didn't have to be at work and the kids and I had a snow day. It took him all day to shovel and then he borrowed a snow blower for the rest. Here are a few pictures.

We don't have school tomorrow either! It was a total of over 22 inches!! Darren went for a little drive this afternoon and he said the main roads are clear but some side streets aren't plowed at all.

birthday=tombstone

So my birthday is next week so I don't know if this is why I have death on the brain but I do. I was thinking about New years resolutions on my way into work (35 mins and no radio at 6 am leads to interesting thoughts). I was thinking about how my priorities some times are not in order and that one thing I would like to change in the New year. I was thinking about what would be on my tombstone. I was thinking of things like ...loving mother...loving wife...loved Jesus, etc that these things should take priority rather than ...awesome artist, best PTA member...best house on the block. Unfortunately, I told Darren these deep thoughts of mine. His comment "so next time you go shopping can I say "do you want awesome bargain finder at Target on your tombstone" URGH!!

Christmas quote

We had a great Christmas and we are enjoying the time off work and school to play with all our new presents. I have one quote from Mason that I want to put on here so I won't forget. Darren picked Mason out some mens old spice body spray to put in his stocking. So when Mason opened it he said "I am glad that Santa is realizing I am becoming a man!" Here is a picture..its kinda blurry though...

Merry christmas from the kocherspergers and the joness

So my awesome cousin Holly came up to take pictures for us at the end of October for our Christmas cards. She did a great job and came up with some great shots. So at the end of November (before Thanksgiving actually) I found a layout I loved at samsclub.com. They had a problem with my order and it couldnt be found. After going to Sams twice they told me to reorder them on the computer.

So finally they called to say that they were in at Sams so Darren goes and picks them up not looking at the cards. He comes in and throws them at me while I was sitting on the couch. I open the front cover to see this

Front cover

Then open the card and here is the middle

See Anything wrong with this picture. I started laughing so hard I couldnt breathe. I hope these people dont have 3 little kids in the spot where this picture was suppose to be on their card.

They finally got them corrected free plus a $10 gift card.

pictures with holly

Not only did my cousin Holly come take pictures of our family --which was so great---she brought her two year old twins with her. They were so much fun. I am going to have to kidnap them soon since they live so close!!

Here are a few shots she got! She convinced me that my family was not the worst!! I think that is what they all say! Look for the one on our christmas card!

little giants

The Little Giant of Aberdeen CountyThe Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed the quiet heroine of this book. She is constantly being looked passed but it's good to hear from her since this is in her voice. She turns a hard live into one that eventually is full of love and joy.

I really enjoyed this light heartwarming read. If you are in the mood for something to warm your heart with a story of friendship in the mist of bad times definitely pick up this book.
